Kristin Repsher

In March 2012 the team at Wotif.com HQ launched a competition to find Australia’s most ridiculously entertaining travel blogger. Her mission? To cross the ditch, visit her Kiwi neighbours in New Zealand’s Canterbury region and report back via this travel blog.

After weeks of searching and loads of entries, they found her. Meet Kristin Repsher.

Want to know more about Kristin? We’ll let Kristin tell you in her own words…

I’m Kristin Repsher and I’m a Texan expat who currently calls Brisbane, Australia home. I was bitten by the travel bug early; my first plane flight was at the tender age of three weeks and I’ve been hooked ever since. Even though I’m a software engineer by day, writing and photography are two of my favourite activities so it made sense to combine these passions and become a travel blogger.

When I travel, I love taking a bit of adventure: throwing myself out of a perfectly good airplane, tossing myself off a cliff with only a parachute on my back, or rolling down a hill in a glorified hamster ball. When I’m not doing that, I can be found hiking up the nearest hill to snap a scenic panorama or setting up my tripod on the beach to shoot nighttime seascapes.

Wot am I doing right now? Check out my itinerary here and follow Wotif.com on Twitter to keep up with my antics between blog posts.

    Hi

Half your luck – just returned – last night after my second trip to NZ in 3 months – went over in December for 10 days and stayed 30 and went back last month for 12 days.

You will find that you miss many meals because the scenery and things to do are just SO FANTASTIC – my daughter and I would forget the time – beaches and tramping terrific – Albatrosses, seals, kiwis – where do I stop – so much to do. Flew to Tasman Glacier – best time ever fabulous pilot – taken heaps of pictures – we both CAN’T WAIT TO GO BACK AGAIN – watching for the next round of cheap airfares from Far North Queensland and the Northern Territory
